Roy F. Reed , 1911-2003, Sedalia

Roy F. Reed, 92, of Sedalia, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at Rest Haven Convalescent and Retirement Home.

He was born Sept. 20, 1911, in California, Mo., a son of Martilus and Jessie Saltzgaver Reed. He is survived by his special friend, Donna Borcherding, of Sedalia.

Mr. Reed worked for Dunham and Son House Moving in Otterville for more than 40 years and retired in the early 1990s. He was an avid history buff whose favorite subject was Jesse James. His hobbies included playing rummy.

Surviving are a brother, Martin J Reed, of Sedalia, and a sister, Mary "Midge" Reed, of San Antonio, Texas.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Lloyd Reed, Harold Reed and Harry Reed.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ewing-Schutte and Semler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry Neal officiating. Pallbearers will be Charlie Curry, Zee Curd, Jim Boyer, Dale Vinson, Steve Reed and Will Reed. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Family received friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions to the American Heart Association care of Ewing-Schutte and Semler Funeral Home.
